Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using SimpleSockets, a service of Drewdan Limited. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
1. Prohibited Content

- Is illegal under the laws of England and Wales or the laws of the recipient's jurisdiction
- Infringes any intellectual property right, trade secret, or other proprietary right
- Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
- Contains malware, viruses, spyware, or other malicious code
- Constitutes unsolicited bulk communications (spam)
- Exploits or harms minors in any way
- Facilitates or promotes illegal activities
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to:
- Launch denial-of-service attacks or otherwise disrupt the Service or any third-party infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, network, or account
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written consent
- Circumvent any rate limits, quotas, or access controls
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our prior written consent
- Scrape, data-mine, or extract data from the Service in an unauthorised manner
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
- Transmit personally identifiable information in channels that are not appropriately secured
3. Resource Usage
You must not consume resources in a way that is disproportionate or that degrades service quality for other users. This includes but is not limited to flooding connections, sending excessive message volumes beyond your plan limits, or maintaining abnormally large numbers of concurrent connections.
4. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for the security of applications you build on the Service. You must not expose your secret API keys publicly. You must implement appropriate access controls for your channels and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised use of your account.
5. Compliance with Laws
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including those relating to data protection (e.g., UK GDPR), electronic communications, and industry-specific regulations relevant to your sector.
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including:
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily or permanently suspending or terminating your account
- Removing or disabling access to content that violates this policy
- Reporting the activity to law enforcement authorities

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
